Described on its Patons archive hand written swing tag as a ‘Jacket (pink with ribbons)'
Featuring waist shaping and lace. Scalloped crochet border.
Hand knitted for an adult in pink wool it has complex shaping in the front and back with a scalloped bottom edge formed by a lace border. Front and back knitted in one piece. Sleeves knitted flat and seamed with a decorative edging. The front edgings are crochet and the front edge is fastened with concealed poppers.
Further research has revealed that the pattern is from The Knitting & Crocheting Book by M Elliot Scrivenor published by John Paton Son & Co (1899 edition page 66 - Ladies long sleeved underbodice)- Creator
